Meat n' Greet

So last Friday, my band played our last show of the year, at Studio-54 in New Westminster. It was a heluva good time, though it wasn't the best show we'd ever had...
The next day I met up with Wayne and some of the fans/friends who had come out to see us in New West and ended up staying over at Waynes place, and we went for brunch at the neighbourhood pub. Sure, 2PM was a strange time to be holding a meat draw, but I said 'what the hey!' and threw in my twoonie for a ticket. Well, it just wouldn't be right if I didn't end up winning the first prize meat, now would it... so I had quite a choice - and though I'm quite sure the 20lb ham had a lot more meat in it, I chose the steak/pork tenderloin/ chicken thigh/extra lean ground beef variety pack. Of course, having all this meat in the presence of my friends meant only one thing... Winter BBQ at Calvin's place!

So we piled into the car and headed up the mountain.
I BBQ'd the steaks, and it pretty dang good meat! Over the course of the night we wathced some videos, went down to the studio and recorded some jams, and we also went through a case of beer, a half bottle of tequilla, a half bottle of absinthe, a half bottle of vodka, oh, and another six pack or beer. Anyway, it was now 11PM and Carole would be home soon, so I got rid of the guys and started cleaning. Not such a great job, but since her mom was going to be staying over the next night (on her way back from Mexico), I had to give it my best shot!

Wayne is leaving for Mexico tomorrow - I just got back from having a beer with him -he's pretty pysched - lucky guy... I'd love to be out of this rain right about now... but, as they say, at least it's warm! I suppose I could be in Edmonton, where my boss is... he told me it was -29 there today. Of course, when I told him it was +9 and raining here, he said "Ha! We Edmontonians 'll take -29 in the snow anyday, over all that rain you guys get!"

wayne sent me an email asking for my mailing address...i was thinking xmas gifts...but it makes sence now... post cards... let that be a reminder to you ...send me post cards where ever you go...

which makes me think... are you planning a cross country trip this coming summer?...will you be needing a place to stay for a day or two or a week?

Hey, yeah - we've been talking about the cross Canada trip for years now, we were even talking about it last week... and we've always been intending to stay with you when we make in to PEI - however, I really doubt if it'll be this year... sigh.
We're planning a trip to the Eastern Bloc of Europe, and if we don't do that soon, we may never get there... Prague, Berlin, Vienna vs. Saskatoon, Winnipeg, St. Johns ... hmmmm.....
