Temp: 22 degrees
Another day booked off, and another day I wake up to rain - at least it was dry by noon and the sun came out, so I was able to wash and wax my car.
in the evening, my old Typhus buddies Chris and Dan came over for a few beers and to chew the fat. I saw Chris at a Gwar concert about 6 years ago, but other than that we haven't really hung out since 1997... wow, practically a decade, yet it was like no time had passed - other than we've both cut off our long hair and gained a few pounds, it was just like old times. We went down to the studio and I put on some old Typhus DAT masters, and we reminisced.
I've got a lot of fond memories of that band - I had my first stag experience in that band, my first live gig, my first recorded album, my first time getting flashed boobies while on stage, and that band never had a problem finding a gig or getting paid ... ah, those were the days, lol.
I tried desperately to find my big box of video tapes from all the old Typhus shows, but just couldn't locate them - of course, ten minutes after Chris and Dan left, Carole located the box. We didn't get to watch and laugh at how young we looked, but we'll do that soon enough, I'm sure. This has given me a renewed inspiration though - Carole found the box of tapes burried under a pile of crap in the computer room. Why was this particular box of tapes in the computer room? Because I had resolved, once upon a time, to load all the old archive footage into the computer and burn DVDs of it, for archival purposes ... hmmm, but I guess I never got around to it. So, my renewed inspiration is to actually DO that - soon! Dump those damned VHS tapes down to DVD! It's in writing now, so I have to do it. You heard it here first! The cool thing about having digital copies of the old performaces, other that to halt the inevitable deterioration of the VHS tape quality, is that once the videos are digitized, I can easily upload them to MySpace. So look for 'em there, soon!
