Friday night, and no plans...
We've decided to take a break this weekend from all the hectic plans we've had throughout the summer so far, so nothing on the slate at all this weekend except relaxin... well, and some overdue laundry...
When Carole came home from work, I said "I didn't feel like cooking tonight, but I've got a hankerin' for baked lasagna, wanna go to Boston Pizza?" "Sure," she said, "anything's fine with me, I just wanna eat."
So we headed down the hill to Boston Pizza, but as we were aproaching the turnoff, I said "Hey, what about Chinese? In six years here, we've never made it into the Coquitlam Hons Wun Tun House 'cause there's always a lineup ... wanna swing by there and see if we can get in? If not, there's still B.P..."
"Great idea honey!" was the reply, so we swung by Hons and sure enough we got in - though it WAS pretty packed...
We ordered beef and broccolli, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, wun tun soup, and a couple of drinks. Grande total was $41 for two people, and there was so much food, it didn't even all fit on the table. We stuffed ourselves full and took the rest (three boxes) home. Litterally, there was enough left for three more meals each. We imagined the cooks mumbling something like "crazy white folk, always ordering all that food" but even with those huge heaps in front of us, we still spent less than half of what we would have at any other restaurant, and now I don't have to cook for at least two more days, too!
This is gonna make a good Saturday morning breakfast!
Actually it made a great midnight snack for the both of us, each loading up a heaping plate - and barely even putting a dent in the leftovers.
