Scorcher! The days may be getting shorter, but summer is long from over - it just keeps getting warmer and warmer!
I went for a nice walk at lunchtime, but it was pretty hot and I was getting a little sticky... I wanted to stay out, but had work to do ... siigh...
So after work, I did the watering and weeding, then just lay out in the sun for about 90 minutes.
When Carole got home from work, we went grocery shopping. We've been putting this off for a few weeks, so the cupboards were getting pretty bare. I'm the king of being able to throw together a full meal when Carole swears there's no food left in the house, but finally all the scraps were gone. Plus, we decided that we're going to have a family BBQ next Saturday, so we need to buy lots of suplies for that too. I did NOT expect the bill to exceed $250 though - yikes! I think that's quite possibly the most I've ever spent on groceries at one time...
We also resolved, a few days ago, to totally purge our filing cabinet of all junk, and institute a new sorting method, so on my way home from work today I swung by Costco and picked up a cross shredder for the office - you can't be too carefull when tossing out financial statements these days! I feel much safer knowing that my identity is a teeny bit harder to steal. Oh, and while I was at Costco, I noticed a really cool Scarface collector DVD set in genuine imitation aligator skin binding, with a genuine imitation "The world is yours" Tony Montana moneyclip inside, so I just HAD to pick it up ... that was my impuse buy for the month, but what can I say... it was Scarface!
Posted by Calvin at August 21, 2006 09:38 AMWe never seem to come out of Costco without leaving minimum $200 regardless how short our list! Good idea to get the shredder, we love ours, had it for years, great fun! Scarface..... believe it or not, we only watched it for the first time last week on TV! Have to say, it was one good movie, amazing we have never seen it before!!
